Folk Artists: New Roots shares the experiences of artists who practice cultural traditions they have brought to Pennsylvania from other parts of the world. These traditions reflect their cultural identities and enliven the fabric of our neighborhoods. This website offers stories of artists who want to share their artistic traditions with you. While they practice traditions from specific cultures, they do not represent the full diversity of art forms from that culture. Use this website as a starting place to explore the many traditions that come to Pennsylvania from other countries. Ask your teacher to check out our Teacher’s Resource Guide filled with lots of fun ideas for learning more about these artists.
