"I kind of like that we’ve actually lived in this house for six years…it’s the longest I’ve lived in one place.  I think it makes me work hard to make sure this little family unit survives any humps and bumps in the road."

"It’s amazing how women, no matter where they’re from… say almost exactly the same thing about their role in the family.  The women’s role in a Muslim country like Pakistan might appear more restricted than in a more open country like, even India.  But the essential role of the women in the family is just so much the same wherever you go; the mother, the caregiver, the keeper of the hearth."

"…women have become more educated, more likely to want to speak for themselves, and more likely to want to do something outside the home, but never really give up the role in the home.  It’s got to be something that links us as humans.  No matter where you are in the world, you’re thinking of coming home to Mom nine times out of ten."
